I just spent a few days at my sisters', Marleen, and her husband Peter. They 're expecting a baby in the fall, so Marleen has to start taking things a bit easier. However, they're gardeners and they just took on a pretty heavy job, so they asked me if i could work with Peter. And if there'd be time left we could work on their house. There's a lot of things about their house that needs to be done (like painting and stuff), and they want to have as much of it all done before the baby is born.
So for four days, i got up at 0800, to go work untill 1800 in the evening. I realized that most people live like that most of the time and then take a week off to live like i normally do. There's this "Loesje" text (Loesje is a group of people who make up funny slogans) that says "Vacation work - have a taste of what other people do normally throughout the year". And it applies to me pretty well. (-:
And it wasn't even that bad! Actually, it was great: being out in the sun, good company, doing work that shows a lot of result and learning a lot (Peter knows _everything_ about trees, it's unbelievable. He even talked me through climbing 15 meters up a tree in their street!) I told them that if they ever need more hands, they should call me first! I think i could do this for at least a month without getting tired of it. ;->
